Pre-registration types
Every visit is different: a one-hour interview, a three-month assignment... That's why Anghello offers several pre-registration types, each designed for a specific welcome scenario. This guide introduces them, compares them, and helps you choose the right one for each situation.

What is a pre-registration type?
When you pre-register a visitor, you choose a visit type. This choice determines the shape their access takes: a specific time slot, a period of several days... Everything else (email invitation, check-in on arrival, status tracking) works the same across all types.
The right reflex: start from how your visitor will actually come, and choose the type that matches.
One-off visit: for a single visit at a specific time
In one sentence: a single visit, at a specific time slot (start and end).
You set a start and end date and time. Your visitor receives an invitation with the exact time slot; on the day, they check in when they arrive and can even come in a little early if you've configured the Allow visitors to preregister X minutes before the scheduled appointment time setting (up to 30 minutes). Once the slot has passed, the visit ends on its own.
Choose this type when the time matters: sales appointment, job interview, meeting with a partner, scheduled delivery.
You'll find these visits in the Planned visits tab of the Preregistration page.
Extended visit: for free access over a whole period
In one sentence: the visitor comes and goes freely; their access remains valid as long as the visit is active.
You set whole days [From... and Until... (inclusive)] with no times. The end date is optional: enable No end date for Unlimited access, which stays active until you cancel the visit. Your visitor receives a single invitation for the whole period, and checks in each time they come. No more creating a pre-registration for every visit.
Choose this type when the period matters, not the time: year-round contractor, consultant on assignment, training over several days, site worker, auditor on site for a whole week.
You'll find these visits in the Extended Visits tab of the Preregistration page.

What all types have in common
Whichever type you choose, everything else works the same:
- Creation happens from the Preregistration page, via the Add button, for an existing contact or a new one.
- The email invitation goes out according to your site's configuration (immediately or X days before), with the practical information and any Notes for the visitor.
- Check-in on arrival can be done in three ways: from the Register my arrival link in the email, via the QR code or the reception tablet, or with your staff.
- The status updates on its own: Scheduled before the start, Ongoing during the access period, Passed after the end, Cancelled in case of cancellation.
- Editing and cancelling are possible at any time from the visit's actions menu.
Which type for which situation?
Situation | Recommended type | Why |
|---|---|---|
A candidate comes for an interview on Thursday at 2 pm | One-off visit | A single visit, a known time. |
A consultant works on site for three months | Extended visit | They come and go freely throughout their assignment. |
A trainer runs a session from Monday to Friday | Extended visit | They come back every day: a single pre-registration covers the week. |
A supplier delivers tomorrow morning at 9 am | One-off visit | A single, short visit. |
A maintenance contractor comes in regularly, with no fixed schedule | Extended visit with No end date | You don't know when they'll be back: their access stays active until you cancel it. |
A client tours your premises for two hours | One-off visit | A specific time slot, a single visit. |
Good to know
💡 Tip: If you're hesitating, ask yourself what matters for this visit. If it's the time, go for a one-off visit. If it's the period (days, weeks), go for an extended visit.
💡 Tip: Picked the wrong type? Cancel the visit and recreate it with the right type: the pre-registered contact's information can be reused in two clicks.
💡 Tip: The family of pre-registration types grows as Anghello evolves: this page is updated every time a new one arrives.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
I don't see the type choice when creating a visit | Check that preregistration is enabled on your site. See Enable and configure preregistration on a site. |
I can't choose a time for my extended visit | That's by design: an extended visit is defined in whole days. For a specific time slot, create a one-off visit. |
My regular visitor receives an invitation for every visit | Replace their repeated one-off visits with a single extended visit: one invitation covers the whole period. |
