Manage Notifications
Notifications alert your employee hosts when a visitor arrives or leaves. This guide shows you how to configure email and SMS notifications for your site.

Before you start
- You need an Administrator or Manager account on Anghello
- At least one site must be created
- Your employee hosts must have an email address filled in to receive notifications
Configure notifications
1. Open your site settings
In the left-hand menu, go to Settings > Sites. On your site card, click Settings & Features.
2. Open the Notifications tab
Click the Notifications card in the overview, or select the corresponding tab.
Notification options
Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Sends an email to the host when a visitor arrives and selects them as the person they are meeting |
| Sends an email to the host when the visitor records their departure |
| The host receives an approval request and must confirm the visit before the visitor is checked in |
| An additional email address that receives all notifications (useful for the reception desk or the front office) |

3. Enable the notifications you want
Turn each option on or off according to your needs.
4. Save
Click Save.
Visit approval
When approval is enabled, the visitor's journey changes:
- The visitor checks in normally on the check-in kiosk
- The host receives an email with an
AcceptorDeclinebutton - The visitor sees a waiting message on their virtual badge
- Once approved by the host, the visitor is confirmed
Check the notifications sent
The status of each notification is visible in the visitor detail panel:
1. In the visitor list, click a visitor's row.
2. In the detail panel, look at the Notifications section.
The possible statuses are:
Sent— The notification was sent successfullyPending— The notification is being sentFailed— Sending failed (check the email address)

Good to know
💡 Tip: The notification email contains the visitor's name, their company, the arrival time, and the site name.
💡 Tip: If the emails land in your employees' spam folder, ask them to add no-reply@anghello.co to their contacts.
💡 Tip: SMS notifications are available depending on your subscription and your organization's SMS credits.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
The host doesn't receive notifications | Check that notifications are enabled AND that the employee has an email address filled in. |
The email lands in spam | Add no-reply@anghello.co to trusted contacts or authorized senders. |
The notification status shows | The email address may be invalid. Check and correct the employee host's email. |
The approval doesn't arrive | Check that the "Host Approval" option is enabled in the site settings. |
