Activate the virtual badge

The virtual badge is a digital badge displayed on the visitor's phone after check-in. It contains their visit information and lets them interact with your site (call their host, review the instructions, record their departure). This guide shows you how to enable and configure it.

Audience: Administrators, Managers
Application: Admin (app.anghello.co)
Estimated time: 5 minutes

Before you start

  • You need an Administrator or Manager account on Anghello
  • At least one site must be created

Enable the virtual badge

1. Open your site settings

In the left-hand menu, go to Settings > Sites. On your site card, click Settings & Features.

2. Open the Virtual Badge tab

Click the Virtual Badge card in the overview, or select the corresponding tab.

3. Enable the feature

Turn on the Enable the Virtual Badge option.

Configure the badge features

You can enable or disable each feature independently:

Feature

Description

Entrance Instructions

The visitor can re-read the entrance instructions from their badge (read-only)

Call my host

The visitor can call their host directly from the badge. You choose which phone number(s) to display: internal line, direct line, main phone number

Attendance Sheet

The visitor can download a PDF summary of their visit when they leave

πŸ’‘ Tip: The phone call only works if the host's phone number is filled in on their employee record.

What the visitor sees

After checking in, the visitor sees on their phone:

  • Header β€” Their name, the arrival time, an elapsed-time counter, and your organization's logo
  • Welcome message β€” "Welcome [first name]!"
  • Host information β€” The name and job title of the person they are visiting
  • Available actions β€” The enabled buttons (review the instructions, call, etc.)
  • Check-out button β€” To record their departure (with a configurable delay after arrival)
  • After check-out β€” The total duration of the visit and, if enabled, the option to download their attendance sheet

πŸ’‘ Tip: The virtual badge can also invite visitors to share feedback about their visit (if visitor feedback is enabled).

Good to know

πŸ’‘ Tip: The virtual badge automatically detects if the visitor has been marked as out from the Admin interface. If so, a message informs them and the badge switches to "visit ended" mode.

πŸ’‘ Tip: The virtual badge remains accessible on the visitor's phone even after they leave. The visitor can find the summary of their visit there.

Troubleshooting

Problem

Solution

The badge doesn't appear after check-in

Check that the virtual badge is enabled in the site settings.

The Call button doesn't appear

Check that the option is enabled AND that the host's phone number is filled in.

The check-out button doesn't appear

A configurable delay prevents the visitor from checking out immediately after arrival. Wait a few seconds.
