A visitor does not receive notifications
A visitor checked in but the employee host didn't receive a notification? This guide helps you diagnose and fix the problem.
Audience: Administrators, Managers
Application: Admin (app.anghello.co)
Estimated time: 5 minutes
Check step by step
1. Are notifications enabled?
Go to Settings > Sites > Settings & Features > Notifications.
Check that the arrival notification is enabled.
2. Does the employee host have an email address?
Go to Employee Hosts and open the record of the employee concerned.
Check that a valid email address is filled in. Without an email, no notification can be sent.
3. Did the visitor select a host?
Go to Visitors and open the visitor's detail panel.
Check that a host is shown in the "Details" section. If the "Host" field is hidden or optional in the site configuration, the visitor may have checked in without selecting a host.
4. What is the notification status?
In the visitor's detail panel, check the Notifications section:
- Sent — The notification was sent successfully. The problem is on the email side (spam, full mailbox…)
- Failed — Sending failed. The email address is probably invalid.
- No notification — Notifications aren't enabled, or the host has no email address.
5. Is the email in spam?
Ask the employee to check their spam or junk mail folder. If the email is there:
- Add no-reply@anghello.co to their trusted contacts
- Mark the email as "not spam"
Quick fixes
Cause | Solution |
|---|---|
Notifications disabled | Enable them in Settings > Sites > Settings & Features > Notifications |
No email on the employee record | Add the employee's email in Employee Hosts |
The visitor didn't select a host | Make the "Host" field required in the site settings |
Email in spam | Add no-reply@anghello.co to trusted contacts |
Invalid email address | Fix the address in the employee host's record |
Good to know
💡 Tip: You can add an email address in copy (CC) in the site's notification settings. Useful if you want the front desk to receive every notification in addition to the host.
