Adding a host employee
A host employee is someone your visitors can select on the check-in kiosk as the person they're here to meet. Adding them to Anghello also enables arrival notifications. This guide shows you how to add a host employee manually.
Audience: Administrators, Managers, Receptionists
Application: Admin (app.anghello.co)
Estimated time: 3 minutes
Before you start
- You need an Administrator, Manager, or Receptionist account on Anghello
- At least one site must have been created
Adding an employee
1. Open the host employee list
In the left-hand menu, click Host employees.
2. Click Add an employee
Click the Add an employee button at the top right of the page.

3. Fill in the details
Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Yes | The employee's first name |
| Yes | The employee's last name |
| No | Their position (e.g. "HR Manager") |
| No | Their work email — used for arrival notifications |
| No | Their main number (with country code) |
| No | Their direct line (with country code) |
| No | Their internal extension |

💡 Tip: If you fill in the email address, the employee will automatically receive a notification each time a visitor checks in and selects them as their host.
4. Select the primary site
Choose the primary site from the dropdown. This is the site the employee is attached to by default.
5. Link additional sites (optional)
If the employee works across several sites, click Link to other sites to make them visible on those sites' check-in kiosks too.

6. Save
Click Save. The employee appears immediately in the list and on the check-in kiosk.
💡 Tip: If an employee with the same email address already exists, Anghello will offer to link them to the site rather than create a duplicate.
Marking an employee as a favorite
Favorite employees appear first when a visitor searches for their host on the check-in kiosk.
1. In the host employee list, click the star icon to the left of the employee's name.
The star fills in to confirm the employee is a favorite.
💡 Tip: Mark as favorites the people who receive the most visitors (reception, management, HR…).
Deactivating or reactivating an employee
If an employee leaves your organization temporarily, you can deactivate them rather than delete them.
1. Open the actions menu on the employee's row.
2. Click Deactivate.
A deactivated employee:
- Appears grayed out in the list
- Is no longer offered as a host on the check-in kiosk
- Can be reactivated at any time by clicking Activate
💡 Tip: Deactivating rather than deleting preserves the visit history and makes reactivation easy.
Good to know
💡 Tip: A host employee does not need an Anghello user account. Host employees and users (administrators, managers, receptionists) are managed separately.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
The employee doesn't appear on the kiosk | Check that they're linked to the right site and that they aren't deactivated. |
The employee doesn't receive notifications | Check that their email address is filled in and that notifications are enabled in the site settings. |
