The QR code allows your visitors to register autonomously with their smartphone. This guide shows you how to download your QR code, generate a print-ready poster and configure security options.
Audience: Administrators, Managers
Application: Admin (app.anghello.co)
Estimated time: 5 minutes
Before you begin
- You must have at least one site created in Anghello

The poster is a print-ready PDF document that contains your QR code, the name of your site and your organization's logo.
1. Go to your sites list
In the left menu, go to Settings > Sites.
2. Click on QR-Code & Tablet
On your site card, click QR-Code & Tablet.

In the window that opens, click Generate the poster in the "QR-Code Poster" section.

4. Choose your template and language
Two poster templates are available β click the one that suits you:
Template | Description |
|---|---|
PDF 1 | Classic template with the QR code at the bottom and the logo on the left |
PDF 2 | Template with a smartphone visual and the QR code in the center |
Then select the poster language (French or English).

5. Generate and print
Click Generate the poster (PDF). The poster opens in a new tab of your browser. You can print it directly (Ctrl+P on PC, Cmd+P on Mac) or save it.
π‘ Tip: The poster automatically includes your organization's logo if you added it in Settings > Organization. Remember to update it if your logo changes!
Download the QR code image alone
If you prefer to integrate the QR code into your own materials (custom poster, welcome screen, emailβ¦), you can download the image alone.
1. From the same window, click Download the QR Code.
2. A preview of the QR code is displayed. Click Download the QR Code to save the image.

The image is downloaded in high-resolution PNG format (1024 x 1024 pixels), ready to use on all your materials.
Configure QR code security
Advanced options allow you to protect your QR code against misuse. These options are configured by default for a good level of security.
1. Go to the site settings
Go to Settings > Sites, then click Features on your site card. Select the QR-Code - Devices tab.
2. Open the advanced configuration
Click Show more settings to expand the advanced options.

3. Adjust options according to your needs
Option | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
Allow VPN connections | If enabled, visitors using a VPN on their smartphone can register | Disabled (VPN blocked) |
Allow proxy connections | If enabled, visitors going through a proxy can register | Disabled (proxy blocked) |
Filter by country | If enabled, only visitors whose connection comes from authorized countries can register | Enabled |
ALTCHA verification | If enabled, visitors must solve a small verification challenge before registering (anti-bot) | Disabled |
4. Save
Click Save to apply your changes.
π‘ Tip: The default settings suit the majority of organizations. Only change these options if your visitors experience difficulties registering (for example if your guest WiFi network uses a proxy).
Regenerate the QR code
If your QR code has been compromised or shared in an unwanted way, you can replace it with a new one.
1. In the site settings, QR-Code - Devices tab, open the advanced settings.
2. Click the red Regenerate the QR Code button.
3. Confirm in the confirmation window.

β οΈ Important: Regeneration immediately disables the old QR code. All previously printed or shared posters and images will no longer work. Remember to print and display the new poster at reception.
A "Last updated" date is displayed next to the button to remind you when the QR code was last regenerated.
Enable or disable the QR code
You can disable QR code registration if you want to use only a tablet at reception.
1. In the site settings, QR-Code - Devices tab, disable the Enable QR code registration option.
2. Click Save.
π‘ Tip: You can enable the QR code and the tablet at the same time. The QR code for self-service visitors, the tablet for assisted check-in β this is the most popular combination.
Good to know
π‘ Tip: 75% of our clients use QR code registration. It is the method we recommend to get started.
π‘ Tip: From the getting started guide, the "Print your QR code poster" step takes you directly to the QR code download window for your first site.
π‘ Tip: Multi-site entrances also have their own QR code and poster. See the article "Create a multi-site entrance" to learn more.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
The QR code does not work when a visitor scans it | Check that QR code registration is enabled in the site settings. If the problem persists, the QR code may have been regenerated β print a new poster. |
A visitor sees an error message after scanning | Check the advanced security options. If your guest network uses a VPN or proxy, enable the corresponding options. |
The poster does not contain the organization logo | Add or update your logo in Settings > Organization before generating the poster. |
The poster opens in the browser instead of downloading | That is normal! The PDF opens as a preview. Use Ctrl+P (or Cmd+P on Mac) to print it, or right-click > "Save as" to download it. |
If the problem persists, contact our team via the chat at the bottom right of your screen or at support@anghello.co.
