# Manage Notifications

Notifications alert your employee hosts when a visitor arrives or leaves. This guide shows you how to configure email and SMS notifications for your site.

**Audience:** Administrators, Managers
**Application:** Admin (app.anghello.co)
**Estimated time:** 5 minutes

## Before you start

* You need an **Administrator or Manager account** on Anghello
* At least one site must be created
* Your employee hosts must have an **email address** filled in to receive notifications

## Configure notifications

**1. Open your site settings**

In the left-hand menu, go to `Settings` > `Sites`. On your site card, click `Settings & Features`.

**2. Open the Notifications tab**

Click the `Notifications` card in the overview, or select the corresponding tab.

## Notification options

| Option | Description |
| ---- |
| `When Visitors Sign In` | Sends an email to the host when a visitor arrives and selects them as the person they are meeting |
| `When Visitors Sign Out` | Sends an email to the host when the visitor records their departure |
| `Host Approval` | The host receives an approval request and must confirm the visit before the visitor is checked in |
| `Email in copy of notifications` | An additional email address that receives all notifications (useful for the reception desk or the front office) |

**3. Enable the notifications you want**

Turn each option on or off according to your needs.

**4. Save**

Click `Save`.

## Visit approval

When approval is enabled, the visitor's journey changes:

1. The visitor checks in normally on the check-in kiosk
2. The host receives an email with an `Accept` or `Decline` button
3. The visitor sees a waiting message on their virtual badge
4. Once approved by the host, the visitor is confirmed

## Check the notifications sent

The status of each notification is visible in the **visitor detail panel**:

**1.** In the visitor list, click a visitor's row.

**2.** In the detail panel, look at the `Notifications` section.

The possible statuses are:
* `Sent` — The notification was sent successfully
* `Pending` — The notification is being sent
* `Failed` — Sending failed (check the email address)

## Good to know

> 💡 **Tip:** The notification email contains the visitor's name, their company, the arrival time, and the site name.

> 💡 **Tip:** If the emails land in your employees' spam folder, ask them to add **no-reply@anghello.co** to their contacts.

> 💡 **Tip:** SMS notifications are available depending on your subscription and your organization's SMS credits.

## Troubleshooting

| Problem | Solution |
| ---- |
| The host doesn't receive notifications | Check that notifications are enabled AND that the employee has an email address filled in. |
| The email lands in spam | Add no-reply@anghello.co to trusted contacts or authorized senders. |
| The notification status shows `Failed` | The email address may be invalid. Check and correct the employee host's email. |
| The approval doesn't arrive | Check that the "Host Approval" option is enabled in the site settings. |

If the problem persists, contact our team via the chat at the bottom right of your screen or at support@anghello.co.
