# Checking in a visitor (receptionist mode)


When a visitor has no smartphone or would rather not scan the QR code, you can check them in manually from the admin interface. This guide shows you how.

**Audience:** Administrators, Managers, Receptionists
**Application:** Admin (app.anghello.co)
**Estimated time:** 2 minutes

## Before you start

- You need an **Administrator, Manager, or Receptionist account** on Anghello
- At least one site must be selected in the site selector

## Checking in a visitor manually

**1. Open the Visitors page**

In the left-hand menu, click **Visitors**.

**2. Click Add a visitor**

Click the **Add a visitor** button at the top of the page.

**3. Fill in the form**

A window opens with the **built-in check-in kiosk** — the exact same interface visitors see on their smartphone or the tablet.

Follow the usual steps:

- Select the visitor type (if enabled)
- Enter the first name, last name, company, and host
- Complete the custom fields
- Accept the instructions (if enabled)
- Take the quiz (if enabled)

**4. Confirm**

Check-in is complete. The visitor appears in the list and notifications are sent to the host.

> 💡 **Tip:** This method is handy for visitors without a smartphone, for deliveries, or whenever the kiosk isn't accessible.

> 💡 **Tip:** The "Add a visitor" button only appears when a site is selected in the site selector at the top of the menu.

> 💡 **Tip:** If you're following the **getting-started guide**, its final step invites you to add your first visitor this way.

## Troubleshooting

| Problem                                    | Solution                                                                              |
| ------------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| The Add a visitor button doesn't appear    | Check that a site is selected in the site selector at the top of the side menu.       |
| The kiosk window doesn't open              | Check that you don't have a pop-up blocker enabled in your browser.                   |
